Meet Ronan Joyce
THE STORY SO FAR...
Ronan Joyce was born in Connemara, in the West of Ireland, in 1967. He was educated at Garbally College, Ballinasloe, the Limerick School of Art and Design, and the Fitzwilliam Institute. His first job was at Fred Wolf Films, where he was employed as a painter and inker on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. In 1991, he moved to Los Angeles and worked as a video image digitizer on Buzz Aldrin's Race Into Space, a space simulation strategy computer game for MS-DOS. In 1994, he moved to Bangkok and got a job as a sub-editor and page designer at The Nation. Since then, he has wandered the earth writing novels and working for an eclectic array of newspapers, including the Bangkok Post, the Hong Kong Standard, the Sunday World and Metro Herald. He started work on Week at the Nees' in 1999 and self-published it five years later. The sequel, Nee-Jerk Reaction, was self-published in 2017. Ronan self-published Hollywood Hoodlums in 2021 and is currently working on Nee-Deep in Deception, the third volume in the Marcus Nee series. He lives in Ireland with his wife, Jan.
